What I Bring
Division III arenas have inconsistent, unflattering light and a lot of glass and netting in the way. Two seasons of shooting them is the closest thing to a qualification there is.
Full pipeline solo — capture, cull, edit, color, caption, publish. One-week standard, same-day when it has to be, via tethered capture or in-camera wireless transfer.
Men's and women's programs shot with the same attention, the same access and the same edit. That shows up in the galleries above, not just in a sentence.
Peak action, bench and sideline reaction, celebrations, team and group portraits, and wide environmental frames for layouts and social.
Two-body kit — Canon EOS R6 Mark II and EOS 70D — with 70-200mm f/2.8 and 85mm f/1.8. A backup body comes to every assignment. Adobe Lightroom weekly, with IPTC captions and metadata embedded on delivery. No equipment ramp-up required.
Evenings, weekends and holidays. Reliable vehicle for away contests. Open to relocation throughout New England and the Northeast.
About
In 2024 I started photographing SUNY Potsdam hockey because I wanted to. Nobody assigned it, nobody paid for it, and I have not missed much since.
What began as men's hockey grew into women's hockey, then soccer and lacrosse — full competitive seasons, arranged on my own, shot on my own equipment, edited and delivered on my own turnaround. The archive now runs to tens of thousands of frames.
I came to this from outside the traditional path. I do not have a photography degree. I built this working nights and weekends around other jobs, learning the technical side the hard way: in a cold rink, at high ISO, with the puck already moving. Everything I know about anticipating a play, about where to stand, about which moment is the one — I learned by being there for the ones I missed.
What I want now is to do this full time, for a program that needs someone who will show up for the Tuesday night conference game in February the same way they show up for the playoff run.
I am looking for a staff photography role in collegiate athletics or university communications. I would rather be judged on the pictures than the résumé, which is why the pictures come first on this page.
